Karen M.
Kids’ Chance of Maine Scholarship Recipient | Graduate | Kids’ Chance of America National Ambassador class of 2024
Karen just graduated from with a degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Maine. She was selected by Kids’ Chance of America as one of three National Ambassadors to spread the word about Kids’ Chance.
Karen will be working with regional biologists from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to collect fishing data within the Rangeley Lakes Region, conducting surveys using direct angler data when anglers come off the lakes after a day of fishing. As fish are harvested, she collects biodata from the fish (weights, lengths, scales, and a stomach analysis) which is used to aid biologists in monitoring wild and stocked fish populations within the Rangeley Lakes.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her reading, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and bird-watching!
